{"id":57,"date":"2011-08-25T08:52:19","date_gmt":"2011-08-25T08:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.daniellinton-france.com\/?page_id=57"},"modified":"2024-09-13T16:48:19","modified_gmt":"2024-09-13T14:48:19","slug":"biography-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.daniellinton-france.com\/en\/?page_id=57","title":{"rendered":"Biography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.daniellinton-france.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Biography_new.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The versatile conductor and pianist Daniel Linton-France from Sydney, Australia completed his studies at the University, \u201eMozarteum\u201c in Salzburg, Austria, where he studied Piano with Prof. Christoph Lieske and conducting with Dennis Russell Davies and Jorge Rotter.<br \/>\nBefore taking up engagements as a conductor, coach and head of musical studies at the \u201eNordharzer St\u00e4dtebundtheater\u201c, the \u201eStaatstheater Braunschweig\u201c in Germany and more recently at the \u201eLandestheater Linz\u201c in Austria he was invited to work as a musical assistant at the \u201eTyrol Festival, Erl\u201e.During his various engagements he conducted over 40 works of music theatre such as:<br \/>\n\u201cThe Mastersingers of Nuremberg\u201d and \u201cThe Valkyries\u201d by Richard Wagner, \u201cLa Boh\u00e8me\u201d,<br \/>\n\u201cMadama Butterfly\u201d and \u201dTosca\u201d by Giacomo Puccini, \u201cThe Cunning Little Vixen\u201d by Leos Janacek, \u201dCarmen\u201d by George Bizet,\u201cThe Magic Flute\u201d and the \u201eda Ponte\u201c Operas by W.A. Mozart, operettas by Franz Leh\u00e0r and Emmerich K\u00e1lm\u00e1n as well contemporary works such as<br \/>\nWilliam Bolcom\u00b4s \u201cMcTeague\u201d or \u201eSolaris\u201c by Michael Obst.<\/p>\n<p>As a performing artist and assistant he has worked at various festivals including the \u201cBayreuth Festival\u201d (\u201cDer Ring des Nibelungen\u201d Conductor: Krill Petrenko in 2015 and Simone Young 2024) the \u201cSalzburg Festival\u201d ( \u201cDie Entf\u00fchrung aus dem Serail\u201d. Conductor: Hans Graf 2013), the &#8220;Ruhrtriennale&#8221; (&#8220;Z mrtv\u00e9ho domu&#8221; by Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek. Conductor: Dennis Russell Davies), the \u201cTyrol Festival, Erl\u201d, the \u201cCarinthian Summer\u201d in Austria, \u201cFestival Cultural de Mayo\u201d in Mexico and at various opera houses such as the \u201cTeatro San Carlo\u201d Naples, \u201cTeatro Verdi\u201d in Florence and \u201cTeatro Verdi\u201d in Trieste.<br \/>\nOrchestras with which he has worked include the Bruckner Orchestra Linz (AT), the Vorarlberg Symphony Orchestra (AT), the Bochumer Symphoniker (DE),<br \/>\nthe Lucern Symphony Orchestra (CH), the Orchestra of the Tyrol Festival Erl (AT),<br \/>\nthe Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini (IT), the Haydn Orchestra, Bozen (IT)<br \/>\nthe Orchestra of the Nordharzer St\u00e4dtebundtheater (DE), the \u201cOrchestre de la Garde R\u00e9publicaine\u201d (FR),the Daegu Opera Festival Orchestra (Korea), the Noura Juku Ensemble (Japan), the &#8220;Johann Strau\u00df Ensemble\u201c (AT) and the Ensemble Risognanze (IT).<\/p>\n<p>As a pianist he is a much sought after chamber music partner and vocal accompanist performing on a regular basis. In cooperation with the Brucknerhaus Linz, he has recorded songs and piano works by Anton Bruckner and his contemporaries for the Austrian recording label\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gramola.at\/de\/shop\/produkte\/wort\/gramola\/wolfgang+boeck,elisabeth+wimmer,linton-france\/anton+bruckner\/141482\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gramola<\/a>. With the flautist Xavier Luck he recorded the album <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gramola.at\/stories\/xavier-luck-daniel-linton-france-in-einer-zauberstunde\">In einer Zauberstunde <\/a>\u00a0with works by Franz Schubert, Friedrich Kuhlau and Daniel Linton-France for the label Gramola.<\/p>\n<p>To round off his musical versatility he has composed and performed many of his own works including pieces for solo instruments, chamber music, music theater pieces and choral works. His chamber opera,\u00a0<a title=\"\u201cEpisodes of Kerel and Galvin - a short travel opera&quot;\" href=\"https:\/\/mdw.vhx.tv\/videos\/daniel-linton-france-episoden-von-kerel-und-galvin-2022-ua\">\u201cEpisodes of Kerel and Galvin &#8211; a short travel opera&#8221;<\/a> \u00a0was performed by students at the Institute for vocal studies and music theatre at the University of music and performing arts in Vienna. His paraphrase on Franz Schubert\u00b4s \u201eDu bist die Ruh\u201c for flute and piano received a prize at the competition \u201eSchubert und die Musik der Moderne\u201c in Graz, 2003 and is published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.editionkossack.de\/contents\/de\/p155.html\">Kossack Edition<\/a>. \u00a0Other works can be obtained at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicaneo.com\/de\/search.html?q=daniel+linton-france\">Musicaneo<\/a>. Recordings can be found under <a title=\"Audio \/ Video\" href=\"https:\/\/www.daniellinton-france.com\/en\/?page_id=383\">Audio\/Video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">At the Daegu Opera Festival 2016 in Korea Mei Hong Lin`s production of Gluck\u00b4s \u201eOrfeo ed Euridice\u201c was awarded best performance under his musical direction with the Daegu Opera Festival Orchestra and singers from the Landestheater Linz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He is founder and artistic director of the concert series \u201cLiving Room Artists\u201d in the \u201cNew Music Theatre, Linz\u201d.
